This blog, by Chloe Baker and Oliver Johnson, describes our journey by land and sea from Lesbos Island in Greece to southern Germany in December 2015. We are both doctors with experience in humanitarian and development issues and undertook the trip in order to better understand the situation for refugees along the Balkan Route and what we all, including the UK Government, need to do to improve the situation.

Safe Passage - Pikpa Refugee Centre
Visited the Pikpa Lesvos camp this morning which is a refugee centre for vulnerable groups (such as the elderly) who can't currently continue their onward journey. So inspired by the tireless volunteers there who come from the island, Syria and all over the world.
